Wonder Circle Reworked

Alright Guys, one really major issue out of the way. I've redone the dialog and remapped the stupid area.

Levi and Miri don't find Kumo their either- in fact they decide they're going to leave him alone and explore other places. That's when the Event Circle stuff occurs.

Afterward you get called into the Infirmary by Lulu via Levi's phone. You get a brief explanation but nobody elaborates yet. Shadz says he needs to get some data from an Omniax computer located at the Fairgrounds that's related.

Exhibition Tower- Arithial shows up and summons Jenova LIFE, confirming the briefly mentioned 'Jenova Project's' existence. (Though obviously different than the FF7 one).

The building begins to collapse from heavy damage as monsters begin to attack it. Kumo and Levi steal some vehicles from the Display Room at the Exhibiton Tower and use the highway connected to 'Gold Saucer' to get on to the suspension bridge over a river that can be travelled under via subway- how you initially arrive there.

Tokyo from that point onwards is infested with zombies. Your party devises a plan using Shadz's knowledge of Omniax to obtain the ten keycards and infiltrate Omniax's main headquarters in Acaridae in a blaze of blood and gunfire to find a cure to the virus spreading.
Alicia announces her biological warfare plans on a world-wide broadcast. The TV Station in Tokyo is where they decide to head to try and stop her right then.

It isn't far from this point that you obtain the Ragnarok and though you have to go to the areas in a specific order, you can still explore the areas, you just won't be able to do any of the story events, etc.

In any case, I won't be updating as often. I'm going to take from SkieFortress's example and stop being so frivolous. I want to get this game done, dammit!
And thus I must stop distracting myself. So...ttfn, everyone.
I want to have this game released by September at the latest! So I have a lot of work to do!

Tweaking Some Stuff

I've been thinking about tweaking the Cosplay Crisis intro into a fully animated, detailed introduction, that actually details a little bit before the actual game started- when Levi is getting off his face (drunk) at the bar Miri works at. (He does this regularly on weekends- Levi is a bit of an alcoholic).
This is when Levi and Miri discuss the plan to bomb an Omniax reactor and Miri rings Kumo to organize the mission. Kumo seems to act normally for most of the phone-call, but there odd moments when he doesn't exactly seem himself...
Also, when Kumo wakes up the next morning, he goes through a regular morning routine- gets his breakfast, watches some TV, worries about something he seems to be forgetting, gets the newspaper without realizing Miri's in the hallway, and then reads the horoscope as Miri knocks on his door.
And blah blah blah.

I've been working out scenes for the areas in the Fairgrounds too. So far I have the Event and Battle circles basically finished. I need to rework the Wonder Circle so badly.
The Ghost Circle will be accessible without the cutscenes and etc. because it's unessecary.
You will be able to rest in the Hotel there, too, but the point is moot due to HP being restored at Save Points (which I might take out to spite you nice people, because I'm just like that.)
But there's a shop there. Wooo~
I also have to make Speed, Chocobo, Round and...finish the Exhibition Tower. Yeha. Then I can move on to mapping out some more Tokyo and putting in the TV Station.
Yey~

To finish, have some art that's not by me :D

The Calamity From the Skies

In Roswell, June 1947, a large object reportedly crash landed in Roswell, New Mexico.

Its arrival was hidden as well as its nature. Reportedly, it was an alien capsule. Its existence was blacked out, as well as all research and tests.

In 1985, the object was moved from is location in Area 51, Nevada, to a secure testing facility in the city of Acaridae, in Ivalicia.
The scientists there took a bold move that their counterparts in Nevada had never dared to do: gave the alien a name.

They called it 'Jenova'.

The testing on animals already completed, Jenova's cells were allocated to human testing.
In 1990, a virus was created from Jenova's cells. It was called the 'C-Virus'.

Depending on the individual, the virus had different effects. Many were horribly disfigured, transformed into monsters or living corpses.
Others had no effect whatsoever.

Reportedly also occuring in 1990 was the use of Jenova's cells to create 'replicas' of living human beings with the potential to carry and use Jenova effectively.

Very few people with the ability to carry Jenova resulted in this. The only way for the others to become 'whole' was for the blood of who they were cloned from to be infected with Jenova and then injected into them.
Until such a time that they are injected with this, the 'replicas' that resulted from the cloning are referenced as 'Genomes'.

From all accounts, there is a human being able to produce offspring that are 99% likely to be able to carry Jenova. He worked on the Jenova project and transferred to Acaridae with it, originally being a scientist for it in Nevada.
His two children were the ones used for the 'Genomes'.

Though the identities of them are unknown, it is confirmed that they do not share the same mother. His first child was, in fact, infected with Jenova cells through his mother while in the womb.

The other also carries Jenova cells, though was infected during adolescence.

Initially, it was believed he did not hold the potential to carry Jenova. According to a report from 2004, he was apparently spliced with the DNA of the first brother. This may have affected his ability to carry Jenova, or simply activated it.

The first brother is reportedly dead. The second's location is unknown.

There are several others capable of carrying Jenova. They are not properly documented.

Holidays (School ones)

Wow, 400 views? This might actually be getting somewhere!

In any case I'm about to start the remapping and re eventing of the 'Fairgrounds'.

Once this is finished, there will basically be nothing left of the original 'Cosplay Crisis' build from a year ago except for a few fragments of the Back Allies and the Streets.
It's kind of shocking. It's like I remade the game before it was finished. Maybe it was a bad idea.
Maybe not.

Anyway I've added a characters page with a brief description and a quote each. Don't come yapping at me about Levi's quote, either- not only do I agree with this statement, it also accurately reflects Squall's character- he avoids thoughts of the future and loathes the past.

In other game-related news I am working on a Computer Terminal which will be able to be accessed from a room on the Ragnarok. It's fully evented and allows you to access 'Event' overviews (paragraphs summarising a section of the storyline), Character profiles, Boss list (maybe) and an Image tab that will have no purpose unless you complete certain side-quests and unlock the artwork.
This will not be posted on deviantART, here, or anywhere else, unless it's in draft form, so these images will be brand new material.

And of course, a little menu with Exit in it.
I'm about to start working on the Levi VS. Aio sprites- a tedious, very trying experience it will be. I have gotten a bit way through it before but I'm redoing it now that I have a better Seifer sprite (too lazy to make character sprites for anyone other than the protagonists and antagonists- and Aio hardly falls into this catagories. More like the 'slightly annoying arrogant guy who somehow decided he wanted to be a bad dude. Woo, now we can kick his romanticist ass FOR A REASON.'
Ahem.
In any case I hope to get a lot of work done these holidays. But homework, my mum...they might get in the way. We'll see.

Progress

You know how I made that list before?

Well, with the demo finally released I can work on the actual game. Which means more MAPPING. But oh well, it must be done!
I'm currently still working on Forest of Despair but I'm almost done! Just got to put in a few more variable events and it's done. I'll work on the cave side-quest -later-.

I've only got a few maps to go, then it's back to city mapping- and unfortunately Tokyo isn't set out districts.

Keep in mind this is fiction and there is not going to be a Shibuya Station. Unless I call the subway that.
In anycase I'm not referencing any real cities while mapping because I am limited on tiles. And it'd be a great big pain in the kahiba!

Anyway, number of passengers required to be found has been reduced from fifteen to twelve.

I suggest avoiding multiple character groups (aka, the FoD boss fight, which puts the variable up by two) until the last minute, just in case there are any little rewards ;).

Now, back to work!
